FAITH VENTURE 2009
‘Faith Venture, 2009’ is the banner for a series of events held during the week of 27th September to 4th October sponsored by the Anglican Church of Bermuda. It will culminate in an open air service on the exact 400th Anniversary of the first communion held here in 1609 – at which the Archbishop of York the Rev. Dr. John Sentamu will be the guest speaker. Whilst celebrating 400 years of Christian presence in Bermuda, the underling theme of Faith Venture is reconciliation. A variety of events are planned for the week including a two man play on the life of John Newton, a Mosaic written by Bermudian Ruth Thomas on the oral history of the Anglican Church and a giant parish fair held at the Arboretum to which the whole Island is invited. Faith Venture will be launched on 31st May in the Town Square, St. George’s when a gift to Bermuda will be unveiled.

For some youth in Bermuda religion is very important. With this in mind Youth Force will host the youth service of the quincentennial. All vehicles will head to Heritage Worship Center to witness the largest youth choir of our history. We plan to “make a joyful noise unto the Lord, “ We have invited young Coy Millet to lift the spirits of our youth with a word from the Lord. The date is Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 4.00 p.m. We suggest that everyone should come early to secure a seat and experience a rich blessing from the Lord.
