Ebenezer Methodist Church
Bermudians and visitors often make the comment that “there’s a church on every corner”. There is a grain on truth in this, as visitors will have no difficulty spotting places of worship in their travels. In addition to the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity and St. Peter’s Church (see Hamilton and St. George’s sidebars) places of worship noted for their mainly Classical and Gothic architectural design include Ebenezer Methodist Church (1840), St. George’s, St. Mark’s Anglican Church (1847 with additions), Smith’s, Old Devonshire Church (1716 with alterations), Devonshire, St. Paul’s AME Church (late 1800s), and St. Teresa’s Cathedral (early 1900s), both in the City of Hamilton, Christ Church (1719 with alterations), Warwick, and St. James’ Church (1780 with additions), Somerset.
